Introduction:

In this third lesson on the book of 1 Thessalonians we will continue to look at key bible doctrines in chapter One:

DOCTRINE 9: ASSURANCE: (1 Thess 1:5)

*** This really refers to the fact of certain knowledge of Salvation in a person’s heart. The teaching is that a person can KNOW and be SURE that they are truly saved and right with God which of course is a source of great comfort and strength for them. The bible has much to say on the matter of assurance ***

1) Assurance is encouraged and strengthened through the channel of faith:

(Ephesians 3:12) (2 Timothy 1:2) (Hebrews 10:22)

2) Assurance comes as a result of standing on the Promises of the word of God.

(John 5:24) (John 3:36) (John 6:37) (John 10:28-29) (Romans 8:35-39)
