1) 1 Thess 2:1: That It Was Not In Vain.

a) Paul’s Ministry amongst the Thessalonians was not Vain.

b) Paul’s Ministry amongst the Thessalonians was not without Result.

“In this verse Paul is determined to underline his MOTIVE for his MINISTRY

— Many were accusing him of being a preacher for the wrong purposes

so he outlines the 3 NOT’s here which surround his work”

a) Paul says his ministry is NOT a ministry of Deceit.

** He is saying that his motive and mission has nothing to do with

error, delusion; or an intent to deceive **

b) Paul says his ministry is NOT a ministry of Uncleanness.

** He is saying that his motive and mission is not Impure **

c) Paul says his ministry is NOT a ministry of Guile.

** He is saying that his motive and mission has nothing to do with

trickery; or fraudulent gain **
